Residents of sector 123 opposed waste site shown concerns to BJP state head

A residents’ delegation from sectors 118-122 met Mahendra Nath Pandey, state president, Bhartiya Janta Party, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday at his Delhi residence and gave him a memorandum on the proposed waste-to-energy plant in sector 123. He agreed and assured that he will talk to MP Mahesh Sharma and MLA Pankaj Singh regarding this concern

"We had provided him a memorandum at given detail of all the concerns of the residents regarding the proposed waste-to-energy plant in sector 123 at his Delhi residence. His view on the matter was tha should not be in residential area and that he will talk to Dr Mahesh Sharma and Pankaj Singh, our MP and MLA respectively," said Taran Dhingra resident of sector 121.

Dhingra adds that the residents’ delegation will be meeting Pandey again in the coming days once he’s spoken to MP Sharma and MLA Singh. "We apprised him of all the health hazards that stand to emanate once the proposed waste site comes up and he too acknowledged our concerns. We hope to get a positive response now on the matter," said Dhingra.
