Now will make attendance during night patrol in sector 51

Now during routine patrol Officers of Sector 49 police station will start signing in the visitor’s register so that residents will get assured of their security.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the police and residents’ welfare association of Sector 51, held to discuss security concerns and woes of the residents. In the meeting, it was decided that every time a police vehicle makes a round of the area, the officers will mark their entry in the visitor’s register maintained at the entry gate.

“We have asked our officers to ensure that they make an entry in the register whenever they go on patrol. It will ensure that regular police patrolling takes place. ,” Vinay Kumar Singh, station house officer, Sector 49, said. Residents discussed their safety concerns with the police on Sunday. “Residents complained of young men sitting in parks and drinking alcohol. We have asked people to call the police helpline or the officers on duty if they spot such activities or any suspicious person. It will also convey to the unwanted elements that residents are vigilant,” Singh said.

Police officers assured residents that the patrol will be done as per schedule. “We have been told that on every patrolling visit, police will make its entry in the visitor’s register. Now we will be able to keep a check with proof of the number of visits they make to our area,” Sanjeev Kumar, general secretary, Sector 51 RWA, said.

Another issue raised was about the credibility of private guards. “We will keep a tab on guards on duty. In the visitor’s register, we will also mention if any of the guards were found sleeping on duty,” the SHO said.
