Noida On The Verge of Getting 179 Bus Shelters After 12 Years

NOIDA (29/11/2018) : A survey has been done by Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) about the bus shelter’s requirements and their condition in the city. The survey came to conclusion, that Noida needs 179 bus shelters at some 99 locations along the 10 bus routes in the city.

As of now Noida has only 25 bus shelters built in 2006, most which are not in a very good condition.

Noida Authority’s senior project engineer SC Mishra said that “they had asked NMRC to conduct a survey to know about the locations where the bus shelters are required and provide us with the list of the locations that should be given priority”.

“E-tendering will start in phases on the build-operate transfer (BOT) from December”, he added.

According to the survey 25 bus shelters are needed along the Botanical Garden-Greater Noida Authority route, 17 along sector 15 to 62 route, 12 along Botanical Garden- Kasna route, 7 along Botanical Garden- KPMG-Advant route and several at other routes.

Assistant regional manager (ARM) Satyendra Verma said that “the last time bus shelters were built in Noida was in 2006, and most of them are damaged now".

An official said that this issue has been discussed in a recent cabinet meeting of UP government, after which thus project has been given importance.
