NOIDA (07/08/2022): The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, (IETE) Noida Centre in association with Gautam Buddha University, has officially launched Short-Term Certificate Courses on Cyber Security, Ethical Hacking, Leadership Development, Solar Installation and Solar Energy Entrepreneurship today, August 6, 22 at 11 am. The certification programme was launched by Vice Chancellor, Gautam Buddha University, Vice Chancellor Amity University, Gurgaon and President, IETE in presence of IETE Governing council members and Chairman and Executive Council members of IETE Noida centre.

Prof PB Sharma, Vice Chancellor Amity University said that there is a dire need to foster a culture of innovation and higher end skill development in the universities and colleges in India. This need to be done in partnership with the industry and in association with apex professional societies like IETE. We need to roll out innovative minds of the youth in plenty from our universities. IETE can play an important role in this regard under the initiative of the Skill India Mission of PM Shri Narendra Modi ji. He further said that IETE in India has the unique advantage of its membership and active association of the well qualified professionals from the world of IT and communication technology and it’s eminent fellowship both in the ICT Industry and in reputed universities and institutions in India. As such as an organisation it is like the IEEE organisation for the Electronics and ICT professionals, academicians and researchers. Digital transformation under the skill India initiative of the Hon’ble Prime Minister is the most important activity in today’s times. Prof Sharma also emphasised that the code of conduct and professional morals should also be embedded in machine learning today so that the smart machines and devices work with conscience and abide by the scientific ethics and professional morals. The launch of Graham Bell Centre of IT Skill Development and Innovation Incubation will prove to be a giant leap forward for upskilling and for fostering innovations in plenty and empowering young India of 660 millions below the age of 25 years, with higher end skills of IT and communication technology, said Prof Sharma.
Wg Cdr ( Prof) P Prabhakar, President of IETE said that the IETE institution was established in 1953 by President of India Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan, and has presently 63 centres all over India with two centres abroad. He further said that IETE strives toward skilling India through specialised training and certification programmes through all its centres across India. He appreciated the efforts of the IETE Noida centre for undertaking an important initiative in training the cyber security and other courses which is imperative and appropriate in today’s times to defend from cyber security challenges faced by the world.
Prof (Dr) Nishakant Ojha, Adviser on Cybersecurity emphasised that a lot of awareness is required in cyber security challenges faced by different segments of the society in India.
