Noida, 26th September, 2022: On Saturday, a man allegedly molested a 7-year-old girl in Wajidpur, Noida, by inappropriately touching her.
Officials said that the accused is on the run, and police is investigating the matter.
According to authorities, the suspect has been identified as Rajeev, a 35-year-old tenant living with victim’s family.
Officials stated that the accused allegedly offered the girl ten rupees and took the girl inside his house and locked the door. When the victim’s mother became suspicious, she knocked on his door, but no one answered. She later smashed into the door to find that the suspect had fled whereas the girl was still inside.
Sector-63 SHO Amit Kumar Mann stated that based on the victim’s mother’s allegations, a case has been filed, and the perpetrator will be apprehended as quickly as possible.
According to police, a report has been filed under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and several provisions of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
