superstition has scared away successive UP chief ministers from visiting the state’s urban hub – Noida – as it is widely believed that whoever visits the area, loses power.
On Tuesday when chief minister Yogi Adityanath announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Noida Metro on December 25, political circles were agog to know whether the monk-turned-politician would break the Noida superstition and visit it.
However, a senior state government officer confirmed that Yogi will be present at the flag-off function. The Noida administration immediately started preparation, for the visit of the PM and CM.
The Noida Metro will cut the travel time between Noida and South Delhi, the officer, who did not want to be named, said.
