*At a hearing in the NGT, New Delhi, the bench has asked the Forest Department, Noida, to respond to the points raised by the petitioner with regard to the felling of trees in the Sector 91 Noida City Forest. Arguing for the petitioner, senior advocate, Sanjay Upadhyay, pleaded that the rampant cutting of trees in the City Forest will lead to environmental degradation and loss of wildlife and biodiversity, and therefore must be stopped. The four member NGT bench, after deliberating among themselves, has asked the Noida Forest Department for a response at the next hearing.*
