In a letter to Gautam Buddh Nagar’s district magistrate Suhas L.Y, Conrwa convenor and an army veteran Ashok Hak pointed out the gross management of COVID-19 in the district, patients losing lives / being denied admission into hospitals, callousness & greed of some private hospitals and lack of coordination.
While congratulating the office of the district magistrate for their pro-active response to thwart the virus, Hak said that “We are getting into an avalanche of spike in cases which requires gigantic mix of medical preparedness in terms of testing, hospital, beds, medical staff, masks, ventilators, standard operating procedures of detection, ambulances, logistics preparedness, enforcement of guidelines by police and a big awareness cum enforcement campaign.”
He added, “Let us not lull ourselves into unpreparedness of a barrage of cases in next two months based on professional reports,” and urged the magistrate to put up an action plan in front of the Chief Minister so that all agencies, resources, logistics, medical / para medical manpower are kept in readiness mode with detailed workable SOP.
