Democracy is something a great gift of constitution of India to its people despite many shortcomings.
Elections don’t happen every month or year. Let their be issue based discussion including replies by Candidates of various party.
It’s the high time when people must demand and these candidates offer Agreement based commitment; an agreement once signed, attested & registered would make them disqualify if they turned their eyes for implementation. However, for this to happen it is necessary that we actually define the problems, expected solutions , our assessment what can be done by MLA or what support of MLA would help problems to be resolved. In case the MLA elected from the party is one whose party does not come to power, what action he would still persist to agitate the issue in Assembly.
Let their be upper level of issue common to entire assembly area and there must be also issues of each village , colony & sectors separately. Even if NA has left a vacant plot which is used for dumping garbage is a problem need a resolution ; Prospective candidate must commit in signing what will be action in general and in particular to mentioned plot nos
We are also 250 people in group, a commitment to such a big group by candidates cannot be simply denied and if so, anyone , in representative suit , bring a suit against winning candidate.
Let people promote some candidate but then onus would be upon him also if their is an agreement.
Don’t forget, how T N Sheehan sb changed elections in country, how candidates have fear of disqualification; let’s walk some steps from the voter side too, infact my take is if some candidate agrees to sign agreement, attest & register with time frame , detailing therein clauses of failures; one who agreed most on terms should sign it and Voters as a group then vote him to win.
Election commission, don’t think , can bring much on plate to make elected people representative more responsible, authentic & accountable, beyond the point they have already brought the discipline and they also need voters support to achieve unified objective of clean & responsible politics in country!!!
