Noida Authority is today conducting raids to discourage shop keepers from keeping and distributing banned polythene bags to consumers. Before this the authority had also conducted discussions with business fraternity and conducted awareness drive to strictly discourage usage of polythene in city.
With today’s raids conducted at Sector 18 market and nearby vegetable market, the authority seems to be taking the issue on priority. Noida Authority can impose penalty of 5000 Rs on illegal usage of polythene.
Many shopkeepers were penalized in different markets in today’s drive.
