EAK CHOTI SEE KOSHISH

We often wish we could participate in the efforts to save our planet but more than often we get entangled in our own thoughts of “What can I do, other than reducing the use of plastic, after all complete elimination will take some years of practice.”

No denying that, any change in a practice followed for years takes a little time and longer practice to change or edit, and glad that we citizens are slowest but surely going forward with it.

I am no expert in matters of Global warming but I am a proud conscious citizen who is always brimming with more ideas, for which often I am even given nick names “Miser”, when I don’t keep the entire house lit when not needed, “Show-off”, when my balcony looks beautiful with solar lights, “Fussy”, when I insist on a wooden spoon at the street vendors, “Irritating”, when I stop people and make them pick their litter. But I am still proud.

Back to the point, Noida, is full of high rise societies with community living. Each housing society has a minimum of 150 to a (maybe) maximum of 1400 apartments. If you stand at the security point of any of these societies you would witness At least a 100 Couriers per day from the E-shopping sites, at least 35 percent of these are of electronic goods out of which a minimum of 15 percent out of there are regular replacement of accessories of electronics we use at home, like the AC remotes, Calculators, Mobile chargers and so much more.

Most of these items which we order and disposed in either garbage or scrap by another person in another house because he is not using that brand or technology any more.

I take the liberty of suggesting, ONE COMMON PLACE in societies where old electronics could be exchanged. I smile at the idea when I even begin to imagine the reduction of E-waste generated this way. The requirements of person can even be checked with the fellow residents via the residents WhatsApp group (which is literally a mandate now) before one hits the BUY button.

I am happy to learn that our CEO, NOIDA Mrs Ritu Maheshwari along with her team is constantly working and generating new ideas for a cleaner, Greener NOIDA. She amazes me with her innovative thoughts, encouraging words and efforts for a better future and we citizens must participate for our benefit lest her efforts turn futile.

Let’s work on any small idea which comes to you to reduce wastage, after all every effort counts

Let’s pledge for a better tomorrow, Lets pledge to reduce waste.
