Noida resident files dowry case against in-laws, claims constant abuse, harrasment

Noida, 13th August 2022: A man, along with his father, has been detained in yet another dowry harassment case for allegedly attacking his wife and her family over money.

The crime took place at a posh society in Noida Sector 121, according to authorities.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the woman’s husband and father-in-law are suspected of abusing the woman’s mother, older sister, and older brother when they were residing with her.

The woman has alleged that repeated dowry requests were made by her in-laws in last too, informed Vijay Kumar, station house officer at Phase 3 police station.

In the FIR, the woman has also described suffering major injuries. The victim claimed that after getting married in 2018, her husband and in-laws began pressing her for money.

According to the FIR, the victim claimed that the CCTV footage from her in-laws’ house had a recording of the incident on Thursday.

A case against the two arrested men has reportedly been filed with the police under IPC sections 498-A (husband or relative of husband subjecting woman to cruelty), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), and sections 3 (penalty for giving or taking dowry) and 4 (penalty for demanding dowry).

According to authorities, the victim’s brother-in-law is currently missing.
