Noida, (2/12/2018): A retired Policeman was robbed of Rs 38,000 at the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway on Tuesday.
The four accused offered him lift to Pari chowk and later robbed him before dropping him near Bakhtawarpur. They also took the battery of their smartphone, so he can’t contact anyone after the incident.
The victim was identified as Suresh Chand who was a resident of Sambhal. He was earlier posted at Expressway Police stations of sector 39 and 49.
Suresh Chand said after the incident that “at around 11 am I was waiting for a bus to Chandausi, and despite standing there for a while I did not get the bus. Suddenly, a white Santro car turned up in which 4 people were already seated inside. They offered me a lift till Pari Chowk and told me that many buses for Chandausi can be taken from there”.
When we reached Mahamaya Flyover, the person driving the car took the service lane instead of Expressway. I got suspicious and told him to stop the car and drop him immediately. One person seated next to me said that we should check everyone so that we can ensure that we all are genuine travellers. Two of them started searching me and took Rs38,000 cash I was carrying, they also took my phone and later returned it to me after removing its battery. After beating me they dropped me at Underpass near Bakhtawarpur in sector 127”, he added.
Uday Pratap, SHO, sector 39 police station said, “An FIR has been lodged against unknown people under IPC section 392 (robbery).
