Govt orders FIR against former officials for giving nod to doomed Supertech skyscrapers

Noida, 17th August, 2022: A case has been filed against three former Noida Fire Department employees for allegedly approving Supertech’s illegitimate twin buildings with a no objection certificate (NOC). On August 28, the towers will be raged through controlled blasts.

After conducting a probe, a team consisting of Director JK Singh, Animesh Kumar, and DIG Fire Service Akash Kulhari gave their report to the Uttar Pradesh government.

Following a government directive, an FIR was filed against three former chief fire officers who worked for the Noida Fire Department, namely Rajpal Tyagi, Mahavir Singh, and IS Soni.

All three officials have now been retired. In compliance with IPC section 217 and section 11 of the UP Fire Prevention And Fire Safety Act, 2005, the police filed the FIR.

The nearly 100-metre tall Supertech Twin Towers are set to be demolished on August 28. More than 3,500 kg of explosives will be filled in around 9,400 holes drilled in the columns and shears of the skeletal structures of the twin towers which will be razed to the ground.
