Noida’s Sector 18 Market Association seeks power bill waiver for traders

Noida’s Sector 18 Market Association on Tuesday sought an immediate waiver of electricity bills for commercial establishments, traders hotels, resorts, restaurants and water parks for a period of one year (From April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022) to help businesses, poor and middle class people to tide over the economic crisis caused by restrictions imposed in the wake of COVID-19.

“The traders have fixed operational expenses like electricity, water, rents taxes etc and also have to pay salaries to their staff. We hope that you will at least wave off the fixed charges to help the traders, as done already by Chief Minister of Gujarat in a sensitive gesture. CM Vijay Rupani decided to waive-off property tax as well as fixed charges for electricity bills of hotels, resorts, restaurants and water parks affected by Corona pandemic for one year i.e, from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. We hope that same action will be taken by the UP government,” wrote Association’s president S.K Jain in a letter to the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh.
