Self-reliant India is not possible without connecting villages and small towns: Nagendra Nath Sinha

NOIDA (27/02/2022): Saras Aajeevika Mela 2022 was inaugurated by Nagendra Nath Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development here in NOIDA HAAT. According to the Secretary of Ministry of Rural Development, Nagendra Nath Sinha, “Without connecting with villages and small towns, we cannot imagine a completely self-reliant India. Our country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making a strong call for self-reliant India. Saras Aajeevika Mela is a positive initiative of the same campaign.

“Saras Aajeevika Mela is a platform for 80 million women belonging to Self Help Groups by the Ministry of Rural Development, where they get information about marketing, printing, packaging and social media to sell their products.

“it is very important to have marketing along with skill. 160 stalls of Self Help Women Groups have been set up in this Saras Aajeevika Mela is a platform where workshops for marketing communication, social media, branding, packaging etc. will also be organized for women.”
“The ministry has set a target of connecting 2.5 crore women with this simple livelihood in 3 years and target has been set to earn 1 lakh per sister’s income by the year 2030,” he also added.

Saras Aajeevika Mela has started from 25th February and will continue till 13th March. In this fair, apart from various types of handicraft jewelry, an exhibition of food items products of many states has also been put up in this fair, 160 stalls have been set up in this fair. On this occasion, Joint Secretary of the Ministry Charanjit Singh Joint Secretary Dr Vishwajit Banerjee Joint Secretary Nita Kejriwal Gaya Prasad Director RP Singha, Deputy Secretary HR Meena and many officials were present.
