15 Chinese Nationals arrested for staying Illegally in Gautam Buddha Nagar

Noida, 24th August, 2022: The police have nabbed 15 Chinese citizens who were overstaying their visas in the Gautam Buddh Nagar District of Uttar Pradesh.

The Local Intelligence Unit, with the assistance of local police, caught 15 Chinese nationals (including a woman) who were dwelling unlawfully in Gautam Buddha Nagar on Monday as part of the verification effort, according to a statement released by the police.

They are being transported to the detention facility in Delhi, from where they will later sent to their homeland.

Following the arrest of a Chinese national in June, the police took this operation to confirm the identities of foreigners residing in the UP area, according to news agency PTI.

The Special Task Force is currently looking into the Chinese national’s alleged connections to the hawala network while they were unlawfully residing in Greater Noida (STF).

The police reported on Monday that of the 15 Chinese Nationals detained, two resided in Greater Noida while the others were split out around Noida. According to the police, the verification effort for foreign residents in Gautam Buddha Nagar would continue.
