Since ancient times women were given freedom to control their own lives, why not today? says Vimla Batham, President, UPSCW

Noida 23 August 2022: The Nari Pragati Social Foundation had recently organised the felicitation ceremony, ‘Aarohan’ on the theme, ‘Strengthening Roots for the Better Tomorrow’ for all their volunteers and partners in Noida.

They honoured their volunteers and partners who have contributed in their journey to help women, children with their empowerment and safety. Several stakeholders from private banks were present who helped them in opening accounts for the women. Individuals from the medical sector, education sector, social activists were also present.

While the founder, Minakshi Tyagi addressed their significant contribution to the financial, social, and economical empowerment of women where they helped over 1000 women to become financially independent and have bank accounts. They even helped many children get admissions to good schools and also facilitated adoption of about 12 children.

 

Chief guest, Vimla Batham, President of the Uttar Pradesh State Commission for Women thanked the NPSF for working hard for the upliftment of women and children.

In her address, she talks about the strength of the women since ancient times, “A woman has always been strong to take care of her family, to look after her children, to work at the same time and bear several responsibilities. From the olden times, women have always been strong and given freedom and control of their own lives. We should not forget this. The firm mentality of Indian people that males are stronger and women are weaker is completely wrong”, she said.

 

“However, times are now changing with girls receiving as many educational opportunities as boys and women breaking glass ceilings in every field,” she concluded.

The event was graced in the presence of Vimla Batham, President of UP State Commission for Women, Minakshi Tyage, Founder of NPSF, Dr Kcalpana Bhushan, Veteran Indian Classical Dancer and several eminent personalities.
