Largest two-day MUN conference organised by Amity International Business School

NOIDA, 9th October, 2022: Amity International Business School of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida recently organised one of the largest special committee two-day Model United Nations (MUN) Conference, with the agenda ‘Global Economic Crisis during Covid-19 with special emphasis on Sri Lankan Economic Crisis.

Key dignitaries including Dr. Gurinder Singh, VC of Amity Universities, President of the MUN Society & Executive Board Chairperson, Krishna Dev Pathak, Secretary-General Shahriyar Ahmed, and other members including Rishabh Sachan, Sanjali Sharma, Tathaghat Sharma, and Devyansh Arora, Prof. (Dr.) Kshamta Chauhan, and Prof. (Dr.) Alka Maurya graced the conference with their presence.

 

The conference was primarily aimed at developing skills of critical thinking and emotional intelligence in all delegates, while also emphasising on the importance of diplomacy and nation building as bureaucrats was an exercise in identifying and resolving global issues collectively.

 

It is a leadership development exercise that hosted 160+ students as delegates from member nations to debate, negotiate, and produce working papers that could help Sri Lanka as they adhered to their foreign policies while deliberating on global issues, with the mission of promoting peace and cooperation amongst UN member nations.

While delivering the Inaugural Speech, Dr Gurinder Singh, (Vice Chairman of Amity Group of Universities) encouraged the youth to promote fundamental identity through tolerance, saying, ‘Tolerance is everything.’ It is one of the most important tools for establishing international peace. Nothing good has ever come from intolerance.’

 

Rishikumar Singh, also known as Positive Rishikumar, Managing Director of the Council of Royal Roots of India, spoke about crisis management and the ways in which enterprising youth must collaborate to advocate and facilitate consensus towards transforming our society.
